Sacred Tours for 2004

Findhorn

If you get a map of Scotland, look up north for place called Inverness, it does have an A grade soccer team, and they do have the nearest civilian airport should you decide to fly. I said civilian airport because on your map you may see Kinloss airport, this is a NATO airbase, so you are protected if that's any consolation.

Okay so you found Inverness look to the right (East) and follow the shore line for 40 kms and bingo you will spot Forres then Findhorn Bay.

So you made it and there sitting on the shores of Findhorn Bay and North Sea is a community set up by four remarkable people Eileen and Peter Caddy, Neil Abercrombie and Dorothy Maclean.

Now before you go any further I would seriously suggest you read the book "The Magic of Findhorn" then you will understand why you need to put this on your list of sacred tours.

In essence you have to appreciate the Christian mythology and where the talk is on angels, archangels, principalities , powers, virtues, dominions, thrones, cherubim, and seraphim and the relationship with God is via a telephone switchboard operator namely a priest or prophet in other cultures it was the seer, priestess, medicine woman or man, witch doctor or astrologer.

Each culture went to great lengths to describe their relationship with God, the Christian concept was to construct massive buildings to house their totems or works of art.  Tradesman were employed from a variety of vocations  namely stone masons, stained glass makers, wood carvers and of course painters of repute to show our heavenly father that we love him with all our heart.

So what is so different here at Findhorn, well for a start four people came together in a bleak and in hospitable place on the north sea in far north Scotland, the Caddy's and Dorothy lived in a caravan park called Findhorn next to a rubbish tip living on social security, Neil lived in Edinburgh. Individually they had a gift but when combined they completed a jig saw puzzle that revealed the missing kingdoms and man's true purpose and function in God's plan.

Bottom line they were given the key to let man back into the Garden of Eden and bring with him the innate knowledge and wisdom of what life was like when they were disconnected from the source of God's will.

Now if we go to the book of genesis you will come across the phrase "that man would have dominion over the fish, birds and cattle and over all the earth " so has the penny dropped would you say man has abdicated his/her role as the caretaker, the gardener for this world.

Every now and then wayfarers or teachers are placed in various cultures in different time periods of humanities cycle to inspire, to lead by example, of course you will know them through their works and so it is with Findhorn. A connection with the Heavenly Father courtesy of Eileen brought about the rediscovery of the missing kingdoms that are part of the spiritual hierarchy. Dorothy revealed the spiritual structure concerning the plant and vegetable kingdoms whereas Neil opened the doors to the nature kingdoms gardeners and carers and Peter brought his military discipline and logistics to the table to assist in bringing heaven upon this earth.

Findhorn is not St Peters Basilica or Canterbury Cathedral or Church in the Rock but it is the closest you can get to been in Gods Temple it's a place forged because man and woman took up the mantle and became a conduit with all the realms. Findhorn is a living functional example of what can be achieved when you are stripped of your dignity and you reach within your heart and soul to Seek out the Kingdom of Heaven and you find the treasures that await for the true seeker.

Yes, Findhorn's purpose is to get you to awaken to the fact that a conversation with God is a free phone call and doesn't need a middle man. It's a place that reveals that you are provided for, the natural rise and fall of the landscape gives you an opportunity to step back and Ask how to utilise the land and if you are listening in union with your heart and soul it will be revealed.

The real treat is to get there before 2 pm on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and shell out £2.00 and go on a guided tour personally I would suggest you give them a call on 01309 690311 (they are in the Forres phone book) to confirm price, start time and days when operating. (you will notice we went in 2004, so things may have changed)

You can rent a cabin or take a B&B or pitch a tent, you are warmly invited to participate in activities, we stayed at the Crown and Anchor Inn and later stayed at one of the B&B's inside Findhorn, we  did the singing in rounds (or Taize Singing), walked the beach, soaked up the gardens, took a multitude of plant photos and sat in the sanctuaries for peace and contemplation.

Lets be real about this, Findhorn is an example of what can be achieved with love and a spiritual intent that is set for a higher purpose. So if four people can do this what can you all achieve in your part of this world.

(Photos to the right) The earth sanctuary protected from the howling winds of a north sea winter. It's roof is covered in earth and plants to provide a thermal blanket of warmth for those inside. I personally loved the ambiance and resonance.

These photos (below) are dedicated to the education of the human kingdom. Full credit and acknowledgement must go to Brian Nobbs who drew these in cooperation with Dorothy MacLean. (see Deva Images) If you click they will expand to a larger image but it's not as good as getting the real thing from Brian himself, my job is simply to bring your attention to the fact that the nature kingdom and its angels are available to you if you simply ask and your intent is honourable.
Brian does sell his Deva illustrations so if you contact Findhorn and speak or email Brian I'm sure he will accept a money order or EFT and he will post out any number of his cards that you request.

For visitors the reception facilities are open
Monday to Friday10 am to 4 pm  and
Saturday and Sunday 1 pm to 4 pm.
